ILOILO CITY – Aklanon tennisters bagged gold medals in the 3rd Mayor Jerry P. Treñas Tennis Tournament held in La Paz, Iloilo City on December 3 – 5, 2021.
Aklanon Czarina Claire C. Miraflor battled with top Ilonggo players but emerged victoriously and became the Champion in the 16 and under girls category.
Aklanon Princess Laurine N. Tana meanwhile was hailed as Champion in the 14 and under girls category. Bounced back from last year’s defeat, came back stronger with a heart of a champion.
Miraflor and Tana are standouts of Montfort Technical Institute in New Washington, Aklan grades 10 and 9 respectively.
Miles Labindao on the other hand, who hails from Buruanga, Aklan became the runner-up in the 14 and under boys category.
Over 30 entries competed in the tournament serving as part of the grassroots program.
